THIS VERSION OF THE FLEXIBLE SEAM TAPE IS CUT FROM THE LARGE ROLL LIKE RIBBON.
This makes it a lot cheaper per running metre, however it is not wound up on a piece of cardboard like the ready made 5m piece, it is presented in a little paper bag like if you bought meterage of ribbon. If you use it a lot and can cope with it looking a little untidy, this is the cheapest way of buying this wonderfully helpful tape!
Vlieseline Flexible Seam Tape is lightweight and bias-cut 15mm wide fusible woven tape. Use to create perfect seams on stretchy/elastic fabrics such as jersey, to prevent warping and fraying. It can easily be applied to curved shapes.
Place in the required shape bit by bit and press the iron down for around 8 seconds. Do not push the iron.
It is also really excellent for getting non-wobbly hems on thin jersey dresses, t shirt hems and other “non behaving knitted fabrics”. Make the hem the width of the tape = 15mm, apply first all around the hem seam allowance, THEN overlock the raw hem (if not using a coverlock), then stitch the hem, making sure you run along where there is tape fused to the fabric.
Care recommendation once fused
Machine wash 40 degrees, dry clean, do not tumble dry, cool iron.
