The team at fabric & finery, based in our brick-and-mortar shop in Helensburgh, Scotland, includes skilled dressmakers, soft furnishers, knitters, crocheters, embroiderers, quilters and all-round crafty people.

Although this is our online shop, we are only a wee message away. Please get in touch via the contact form if you need help choosing the right products for your next project.

Our Maker’s Parcel Gift Service is designed to help you find thoughtful gifts for crafty people, sent directly to the recipient with a handwritten greeting.

We can also create custom sewing, knitting, crochet or needlework hampers, so please get in touch if you have something special in mind.

Postage is kept low at £3.50 for Royal Mail 48hr tracked delivery, and we cover postage on orders over £60 as a wee thank you.

The growing mountain of heavily reduced goodies in our shop in Helensburgh, opposite the train station....lots of bargains in our yarn department, too!!Brush, brush, out with the old, in with the new!!If I had just a wee minute to myself I would love to sew up lovely things with all these fabrics but I will have to leave that to yourself whilst I am busy picking more items out for the sale together with the team!A new delivery of Romo and Villanova end of series fabrics arrived as well, available at heavily reduced prices, down from £44/46 a metre to £9.95!!Pop round, we are open as always tomorrow Friday and also Saturday from 10am to 5pm!Irina & team

Well, we certainly have lots of options for you to keep your hands busy whilst the rain is still on..
Its also a really nice thing to bring along for a coffee invite etc....sooo reasonably priced! From £3.25 for the small kits to £9.95 for the larger ones...a great option since you cannot take flowers into hospitals anymore as all you need comes with the kits and we stock embroidery scissors or wee snips, too!Open Wed, Fri, Sat 10am to 5pm!

Isn't this a gorgeous wee jumper? 🥰Knitted up by one of our own talented team members using Stylecraft Bambino DK Sage and finished with dark pearlescent, it is just a little bit different from your classic baby buttons.Sadly, the pattern she used is not available from us and is out of print but is available on some sites as a digital download. Just search for "Stylecraft pattern number 4771" or you can always pop in and browse our extensive selection of knitting (and crochet!) paper patterns in a variety of styles and designs to choose from.Happy knitting!

Its amazing that I seem to be unable to take one video without thread bits somewhere on my jumper!! Haha, just a confirmation that real sewing is going on here! Watch me alter my favourite jeans from younger years to still fit me now! Come to the fortnightly Saturday morning dressmaking club or the Friday evening Alterations ART club if you want to give this a shot too, it works with all kind of trousers by the way! Have fun! Sooo difficult to find well priced nice quality fabrics for wee shirts, a wee blouse, easy summer dress but we were LUCKY!! Even a lovely brushed cotton for jammie pants and our popular poly viscose tartans restocked ready for the summer season!From tomorrow we will update the stock levels on our website and add the new fabrics too!

"fabric&finery" in Helensburgh is running an extensive Sewing School for over 15 years. Our aim is to empower you to tackle projects you might not have tried on your own.You will be surprised what you can achieve if you put your mind to it, I will keep you right as you go. Everyone is so busy these days, therefore our various club sessions are fortnightly, so you get to meet up twice a month for 2.5hrs each, put it in your Diary as an appointment and claw back some "me-time,".In the clubs & classes section on our website www fabricandfinery co uk you find those clubs that have chairs available and also the upcoming classes.
