The team at fabric & finery, based in our brick-and-mortar shop in Helensburgh, Scotland, includes skilled dressmakers, soft furnishers, knitters, crocheters, embroiderers, quilters and all-round crafty people.

Although this is our online shop, we are only a wee message away. Please get in touch via the contact form if you need help choosing the right products for your next project.

Our Maker’s Parcel Gift Service is designed to help you find thoughtful gifts for crafty people, sent directly to the recipient with a handwritten greeting.

We can also create custom sewing, knitting, crochet or needlework hampers, so please get in touch if you have something special in mind.

Postage is kept low at £3.50 for Royal Mail 48hr tracked delivery, and we cover postage on orders over £60 as a wee thank you.

There is a new thing on instagram - making sturdy fabric for pouches and other creations out of wallpaper, sweetie wrappers, crisp bags etc with the help of several layers of Odicoat and a fabric backing!Just search for Odicoat and it should come up.If you wanted to give this a shot, we stock all you need for it, incl plenty of free discontinued wallpaper books.If you were a paper artist, nursery or crafty group leader, please also pop in and choose anynof these books, you are very welcome to them, we have lots more!We are open for public retail in Wed, Fri and Sat 10am to 5pm. Dress sliding downwards?We are asked a lot for elastic strapping in nudes, blacks and pinks and here they are, in stock now!10mm and 12mm wide, with silicone strip and without. Well, what would a girl do without those marvellous @ikeauk bags....still totally remember ordering 80 of them for our shop move last year!!!Peeerrrrfect for bringing our online and mail orders to the post office...!!Today a mix between straight website orders and parcels for a couple of crafters from the inner and outer hebrides who get many of their crafty items from us, they send us a list and inspo pictures via whatsapp and we reply, suggest, discuss and send the big parcels on their way with the trusted @royalmailofficial tracked service!They get everything they are looking for (and often more :-) ) without having to trail pages and pages of websites, they trust our reassurance of quality and get first hand pictures too, of all the colour co ordinating fabrics together...! They get everything they are looking for (and often more 🙂 ) without having to trail pages and pages of websites, they trust our reassurance of quality and get first hand pictures too, of all the colour co ordinating fabrics together...! We do try to take the hassle out of remote shopping!

Sadly the fellow business who wanted to purchase all our reduced premium Anchor tapestry wool skeins has now decided to change their mind and ghost us instead, so they are now available again!They were £1.50 a skein, reduced by 50% to 75p a skein. 163 skeins therefore came in at £122.25.Who would like to take them at the very special one off price of £95 incl free postage if required, for all 163 skeins?Otherwise we will unpack them and put them back onto the display unit for you to pick and mix at 75p each!These skeins are not uploaded online as we just sell them off at wholesale price to clear.Let us know! Received a wee facebook message this morning, a gift was needed for today for an impromptu dinner invitation!The guest remembered that the host is a keen crocheter, she announced the budget she had in mind - a wee interesting crochet book and a few lovely pastel yarn balls to the rescue! Picked up just after the class finished tonight, perrrrfect!Great to have a local shop to hand that can serve like this, that even beats Amazon!!
