The charge of £72.05 (plus £2.95 postage added at check out) = £75 total incl. 20% VAT, consists of:
Providing several suggestions for backing and piping of the tapestry, colour co ordination, fabric advise, sending photography via whatsapp. Agreeing one of the options.
Straightening the tapestry gently back into 90 degree angles, making piping, overlocking backing and piping, sewing the cushion cover paying exact attention to follow the outlines of the tapestry and prepare for sending, incl. piping cord and OPTI concealed zip:
1.5hrs @ £30/hr incl. 20% VAT = £45.00
Abraham Moon 100% Wool backing or Linwood Velvet backing or similar premium quality soft furnishing fabrics, colour-co-ordinated, suggested by us and picked by the client from the offered choice, also the piping material, equally Velvet or 100% Wool: Average price per cushion cover: £13.50
UK plump feather filling in cambric feather proof cotton in the size required, max 20″ square, as an average price: £8.75
Your cushion would be sent back on a tracked 24hour postal service with signature required for extra safety. The additional postage required for this medium sized parcel £7.75 service (up to 2kg) is £4.80 (plus the added £2.95 on checkout of this commission = £7.75), which is charged as part of the £66.50.
The compensation amount is max £150.00 if you can provide all original receipts for the tapestry etc. You will not be able to claim for all your personal work involved to make up this tapestry, very sadly. Royal Mail does not make it easy to claim, this just as a word of caution as I am pretty appalled after having read through all their small print. In the last 12 years of offering this commission, every parcel arrived as we send it incl. signature required, hopefully it will always stay like that. Please contact us if you wished to use a different service or purchase the UPS upgrade (separate product on this website).
We do not charge you for packaging materials as we keep re-using as much of the incoming packaging as we can to save waste and protect the environment. We are an accredited “zero waste and against single use plastic” shop.
** Please see separate product for “Tapestry Cushion WITHOUT FILLER ** The price there will be reduced by the average filler cost of £8.70 and a reduced additional postage of £3.00 as without filler the cushion cover can be sent back as a small parcel instead of a medium parcel at £5.95 postage instead of £7.75. (Total price without feather or premium fibre filler is £61.55 plus £2.95 postage at checkout = £64.50 incl. sending back)
