Check Tartan Bias Binding Single Fold red/white 20mm per metre

£1.95

Bias tape, made from strips of bias-cut (45degree angle) abric, is most commonly used to finish garment edges, especially along necklines and armholes. One reason why is that bias tape’s inherent flexibility enables it to be sewn neatly around curves for a smooth, pucker-free look.
“Single fold bias” means that the bias is folded inwards to the middle from either side, to allow for effortless folding of the tape into half (= double fold Bias). One side of the fold is 1mm slimmer than the other, so once you halved the tape again, you notice that one half is a tad slimmer than the other. You flange the double folded tape onto the fabric edge, and top stitch with the slimmer side up, not to miss the under side when stitching through the three layers.
