This club is perfect for you if you CAN sew, ie have completed our Beginners Sewing Class or have collected some sewing experience on the machine somewhere else in a class or you are self taught and now are on the lookout for a social club where you can deepen your sewing experience and knowledge in a group of like minded people, twice a month.
Come along and enjoy 2.5hours of sewing on your latest project with complete distraction from the hectic of your daily life, have a chat and a cuppa, too!
This club takes place every other Tuesday EVENING and follows a fortnightly pattern all year round.
- Be in good company and work on whichever project you like, should you be stuck for ideas, we have kits for many projects, ie stockings, table runners, zipped pouches, Zipped, piped or bobble trimmed cushion covers, all shop stock purchases on the day of the session entitle you to 10% off! We are very happy to show you anything that you have not tackled before.
- We can also show you how to make zipped cushions with piping, boxed seats, tote bags, bucket bags etc.
- You may of course also bring your own patterns in for your own projects and ask any questions you may have on the way
- You are invited to use the tools of the workshop from Olfa Mats to Olfa & Fiskars Cutters, Sew Easy Rulers, Button press, Overlockers etc.
- You are meant to bring your own fabrics, sewing kits, sewing machines, but you are equally welcome to use a sewing school machine, please just let us know in advance so we can set up one of our sewing school non-fancy manual sewing machine for you. You are also very welcome to use the school overlocker.
- This is meant to be a fortnightly meet up of like minded crafty people who like to sew all together and pinch each others tutorials to try projects they might otherwise not have tackled/considered, it is a great way to broaden your experience in sewing or to set “me-time” aside to sew away from a busy home.
- You are not tied to block bookings, you book one session, see if you like it and then always book the next session at the end of the one before. Should you be on holidays at the next session, you can skip it. If you had to cancel very last minute, it could happen that you have lost your fee for that session if there is no one else in your group pool who would like to take your place on short notice. The group pool is bigger than the number of spaces available to ensure maximum flexibility for everyone, these are clubs for busy diaries, we know members will not be able to come to every session all year round.
